07 SEP 2010

This morning we get up with our plans to move on to the return route home. Of course one of the first things we have to do is figure out what that route will be. We know that we are going to head towards New Orleans but it is too far for a one day drive, so we are looking over the maps to figure where to head. Tallahassee, FL – State Capital, home of the Florida State University.

Ok, today is my FIRST DAY OF RETIREMENT, the day when I do not have to go to work. Being sensitive and caring, I only sent a couple of messages off wishing Anne and Alicia good luck and welcome back to work statement...oh and on facebook too.....hmmm no matter I am retired and going to make this a special meaning day for me.

This means re-organizing the car, yeah worse than cleaning up a house since everything is compacted. You would think that we don’t have as much stuff as you would in a house, but let me tell you, on a comparison of per square inch basis, I think we have all of you beat – maybe not Rick and Cleve, they do manage to have alot of stuff in their house.

Before we left we decided to organize, pack up and meet Rick downtown Orlando for lunch and farewells. Downtown Orlando is really a pretty place just for the record, but with no camera in hand I have no pictures to share of mine but fortunately the web is wealth of options. These pictures show the area we were in for lunch.

The drive from Orlando to Tallashee Florida and arrived ready to relax for the evening. We did find a Chinese Smorg for dinner and what a smorg. I have never seen so many dishes offered at one time. There were 3 rows of hot foods, 1 row of fish dishes, 1 row of salad options and 2 row of desserts. Each row must have had at least 20 dishes on each with no repeats.

My throat is starting to bother me so it seems that I am getting the cold that everyone else had. So I avoided the swim in the pool and opted to head to bed early. Wes enjoyed a swim. Fortunately he is feeling much better. Both our sunburns are looking and feeling better too.
